Why Carnera in 2023?

Why would I recommend Carnera in 2023?

It's no secret that Covid is re-surfacing globally, and many companies are worried about its rise. Employees continue to be worried about the uncertainty in the economy and about office vs. work-from-home situations. But Carnera keeps calm and we Carneraians continue to stay fret-free. 

At Carnera, we have followed the Mantra of Remote Teams right from our inception. All Employees at Carnera are Remote, and while we do have 2 offices in India, and one in Poland, ‘work from office’ is only just an option, and never enforced. We do however, ask our colleagues to get together for the Annual Carnera Festival, where we tend to go to an exotic destination and spend 4-5 days together - but who wouldn’t want that (wink wink).

With 2023 just about starting, Carnera’s ambition is to grow and give our team the ecosystem to grow hand-in-hand. We would love to bring in fresh talent and always encourage people with exceptional skills and ideas. 

Now the question you might have is “Why Carnera?” Here is my take on why I would (and am) recommend Carnera to my Friends and Family.

  1. Remote Teams: A Remote-First setup helps save commute time, provides more schedule flexibility, increases efficiency, and aids the opportunity for inclusivity. At Carnera, you can experience all of this firsthand.

    In spite of that, if you wish to join us in the office, you would find our Senior Management almost every day in and around one of our offices.

  2. Real-Time Collaboration and Support - For all new members joining us, we have a dedicated team ready to help you get started, whether you're a fresher or an experienced wine. We use Slack for communication and Zoom for video calls and onboarding sessions. The recordings of these sessions are also available, so you can review them later if necessary.

  3. Buddy Bunks - While we are all set to hire the next set of Carnerians, we are also very proud of our existing team members. They have been extremely helpful and supportive to all the new joiners. We conduct training sessions and assisted learning programs for our team members on a regular basis. 

  4. Annual Wellness Week - Being mindful of the fact that people are working from home, we have come up with an Annual Wellness Week. This is also a simple gesture of gratitude towards all Carnerians for their hard work and dedication to bringing us to where we are today. As a part of this initiative, the entire last week of the year is a company-wide shutdown and everyone is able to spend the last 10 days of the year with their family, reflecting on their achievements and planning for the future.

  5. Medical Benefits - We recognize that the changing dynamics of our industry require our team to be at their best. To support this, we have introduced a health insurance policy for all Carnerians and their Families that is comprehensive and provides extended coverage for Covid, etc.

  6. Excellent Work Culture - At Carnera, we believe that teamwork is key to success. Our CEO and Head of Engineering have built a very open, challenging, flexible, and diversity-inclusive environment that encourages team members to bring their ideas, concerns, and thoughts to the table.  

    Our employees are encouraged to be creative, think outside the box, and come up with solutions for problems that arise. We value their input and want them to be able to contribute in whatever way makes sense for them.

  7. Internal projects - We feel that learning should be fun! That's why we love to encourage team members to work on internal projects. These projects give the team members a platform to sharpen their skills, grow and learn. These projects pave the way for those "I'd like to learn this" thoughts. In addition, it enhances the bond between the team members and boosts their confidence.

  8. e-Events and Hampers - At Carnera, we believe that small events and fun activities are an important part of our virtual working environment. They keep the team motivated and together, acting as a fresh breeze amidst those long hours of work.  Goodies and hampers are my personal favorites at festivals. They add a lot of excitement and cheer to the festivities.

  9. We're an Agile team that values personal growth, open communication, and fun work culture. We have remote work options available, and we're always looking for new ways to make our company the best it can be. 

  10. We throw regular company events so that you can get to know each other on a more personal level. And with open lines of communication between teams and managers, we make sure everyone is on the same page.
